Stage 1: Renovating our Holding Area (Cat side, HVAC and Plumbing) required $150,000!
January 8/18: Phase One Renovations began! It took approx. 8 weeks to complete
December 2017: Thank you to the Community Foundation of SE Alberta and the Sherling Foundation for their grants towards purchasing equipment for Phase One!
September 17: We are finalizing our design plan, and then we will begin to determine the timeline for construction. We will need to arrange for an alternate location for incoming animals temporarily during the construction phase. We will keep you updated! We do not expect Phase One to affect public access to the building. We are continuing to fundraise!
June 13/17: Thank you to Alberta Culture & Tourism with the Alberta Government for approving our CFEP Grant Application for $57,214 towards Phase One!
June 12/17: Thank you to the Lions Club of Medicine Hat for your generous donation of $20,000 towards our renovation plans!
June 4/17: Thank you to the Medicine Hat Realtors Charitable Foundation for your generous donation of $10,000 towards our renovation plans!

The 'Extreme Shelter Makeover' Campaign needs and welcomes gifts at all levels. With a variety of giving levels, the campaign provides numerous opportunities for donor recognition, including sponsorship for individual areas within the new facility, as well as for dog and cat kennels and landscaping. In addition to being listed on the building donor wall, a plaque recognizing your name or company name, or honoring a loved one or beloved pet, can be placed in/on the area for the following sponsorship opportunities:
